Wife, mom of 18 year old, idol to 3 dogs, and for work I'm an accountant/manager something or other. Never enough time to train, but I squeeze it in early mornings and weekends the best I can.

I am a journalist who worked my way into development of an outdoor recreation and travel section several years ago.  I fish, ride bikes, travel and write about it.  When I decided last year to work toard triathlons this year, it all became fodder for my column.  So, my work is my play, my play is my work.  Unfortunately, my boss doesn't think fishing or triathlon training can be done on company time so it makes for a busy life.  But, the combination does make many things tax deductable as business expensives.

I'm an advertising account exec. Not exactly conducive to training when we hit our busy season...and when your client is a major retailer, every season is busy season.

Project Manager for a Construction Company in Dallas! I am currently traveling for work to Houston 3 days a week, so it makes training tricky and I have had to tweak my training schedule to fit the traveling.

My job doesn't necessarily 'allow' me to take part or train for triathlons, it's just a committment I have to make myself, and find the time to do!

I'm a Product Manager for a small web software company in California. I spend plenty of hours in front of a computer everyday, and training for an hour before work is my time to meditate. Riding here is especially awesome - I head out my front door and ride across the Golden Gate Bridge every weekend!

Turnaround Planner at an Oil Refinery in Illinois. 40 hrs a week for 9-10 months out of the year and  7 days a week 12+ hrs a day the remaining months, during the actual Turnaround. Training gets a little more difficult during those times.

I'm a computer programmer and luckily I get to work out of my house.  The software company I work for is a virtual company headquarted in California.  Took awhile to get used to not being in an office, but its real nice now - don't think I could go back to it!  The nicest thing is being able to set my own hours.  I can get up the Y at lunch to swim or work out and when its decent weather I can get out for runs during the day.  And since I have a wife and 3 girls I don't have a heck of a lot of freetime once they get home from work/school.

Cool Thread - fun to read what people do.  I'm happy to say the I'm representing the US Postal Service.   I've been a letter carrier for just over 20 years.  Good job, love my route - walking all day.

Co-Workers as me about training and racing - i say "I don't go postal, i go fast!"

I'm a gas trade living in the beautiful city of Calgary,AB. Married with 2 young girls(3,1) and a wheaton terrier who comes for runs on weekends. I tend to swim early weekday mornings(try for 3 days/week) and get the rest in sometime during the weekday. I get some free time on weekends, but usually early before eveyrone else is awake. Lost 45lbs in the last year, hit my target weights, and looking to maintain this lifestyle now. I haven't raced my 1st TRi yet( coming march 8th), but I'm hooked on the training for sure!!

Married (11 years this April) to a very supportive, loving wife.  Together we have two beautiful princesses (6 and 3).  Oldest one is in 1st grade and the youngest one stays home with Mom until pre-school this August.  Mom is a stay at home Mom for now...former chef (Scottsdale Culinary grad).

I'm a business systems analyst / project manager for the tech subsidiary company of a large health care provider.  Fortunately, my job is fairly predictable and doesn't consume my life.

I also teach tennis and coach soccer periodically.  Currently, also studying for my PMP exam next month.

 My day has three parts: Early morning (we're talking 4:15/4:30am) - work out/train; 7 - 3ish work; 4 - 11 Family...kids in bed by 8pm...quality time with wife for the last 3 hours...boring, I know.  But I like it...

i am a designer/draftsman for a premier home builder in central PA.   devoted father of 2 kids (5yr old girl, 3yr old boy) and happily married to my first wife for 10 years.  i grow a nice size garden, raise my own chickens, can my own food, cut my own firewood for heat, enjoy camping and skiing and bike riding.  i got hooked on tri training this past thanksgiving and anticipate my first appearance.  i do my training at 6:00 am so that i can have the evenings with my family, but still sneak in a little time anyhow at night too.  oh, and im an eagle scout with a bronze palm.   i like to throw that out there for no reason
