Subject: What is your other life?

I just wanted to see what everyone did in their "other" life when they are training or taking part in a triathlon or other sporting event.  What's your job or career that allows you to take part in triathlons?

Just a student here...

I am a full time husband, father, and work in the equipment finance industry.  Training for triathlons has been a very big challenge to fit into my schedule; however, it has somehow made me more efficient and able to spend more quality time in the other areas of my life.

I work for US Cellular in one of their customer care centers. I'm the one you go to when you've got no other options and you don't know what can be done next.  Cool

I have no other life! Heh heh.

Actually, I am a freelance web developer. Nice because I can set my own hours and go ride my bike at 2 pm on a Thursday afternoon. Not so nice because it's not a high paying career these days, so I can't afford all the cool triathlon toys that I want.

Work (rotating) 12 hr. shifts for the Department of Veterans Affairs; during the warmer months I work p/t 20-30 hours a week at my local bike shop; single parent of 15 yr old son and weekend parent of the other two spawn (13/6); PLUS I'm trying to have a meaningful relationship with a wonderful woman who understands (and appreciates) my busy schedule.  So...don't look to my training logs for any guidance.  Foot in mouth

full-time Mum of 4 year old Matthew, so it's early morning training at the weekends for me, when I think Dad puts him in front of the Care Bears and goes back to bed  .  My local pool and gym has  a creche which is a life-saver.  It's going to be hard when he goes to school soon and I go back to work, how the hell do you fit it all in?

I run a couple of cycle shops and dash home to raise 3 children. Fortunately or maybe unfortunately, as it's horrible weather, I can take the odd morning off to train after the kids are at school. But as I've just started a few months ago, I'm still getting into a good routine.

I am a school psychologist.  I arrive at work about 8:30 am and leave by 2pm.  So I easily fit in training before and after work.  I also have summers off to play!

I have three daughters who live with their father 60% of the time.

And I live with my fiance who is very patient with me and all my athletic dreams!

I am an Air Traffic Controller in the Navy.  I also ride MX with my 16 year old son and mt. bike.  I retire in a year, just as my son graduates and hope to be able to dedicate a lot more time to triathlon.

I am a bus driver for my local school district while trying to save money to finish school so I am able to easily fit training into the break in the middle of the day, if I don't have a field trip! Laughing

Wife, mom of 2 teenage boys (16 and 18) and one dog.

By day I'm an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher.  I work with little ones, 3-5 years old who have developmental delays.  I work out in the early am (5:30 UG) because after school I'm wiped.  But I have my summers off, so no complaints.

Stay home mom. I'm homeschooling our 4 children, 13, 12, 10 & 8. I seem to spend a lot of time in the car taking them to and fro. I train wherever/whenever I can fit it in.
