Pre-race routine:

Event warmup:

Got to race site with about 30 min to spare. Made way to port o potty and tried to stay warm.

Comments:

This race was good for me. I ran with my friend which always makes everything better.
We started at a 10-11 min pace which was good. Slowed a bit later in the run.
I felt great the whole time. My feet hurt a bit towards the end, but that is to be expected.
This was a nice course, but not one you want if you need spectators.
I will say there were only 2 port o pottys on the course, which made for intersting people watching along the way.
We came across some deer around mile 11. That was nice. The aid stations were pretty well stocked, but only with sports drink and water. There was only 1 with a few Gus and orange slices.
I decided early on before this race began i was going to stick with my friend during this race adn that is what i did. We chatted the entire way and enjoyed the scenery.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, i acheived my goal for this race.
Post race
Warm down:

I walked around and went to the car to get warm dry clothes on. Got some food and waited for my hubby to finish his marathon.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing

Event comments:

This race was nice becasue it was low key and well organzied. The only gripe i had was the lack of port o pottys, not everyone wants to go in the woods.
Otherwise i liked it. Plus it was so close to my parents house so i had someone to watch my son.

What you have something against going in the woods?

I am curious about this race...maybe next year. The Corn family had a great showing up there, way to go!

Great race!  That free babysitting is a big lure for us too.  : )

I'm jealous of your full mary plans for ING.  I'll be doing the half (at most) so you can watch for me to be yelling for you in the last couple of miles.

Sounds like a fun race! I hope they add portapotties in the future, I'm a little nervous about getting poison ivy going in the woods.

Sounds like an awesome race.  And I like how you did it for fun and with Jamie.  It gets old doing everything for a pr all the time!
