Pre-race routine:

Had oatmeal at 6am for breakfast. Drove in early and picked up a doppio Espresso. Drank a bottle of Amino Vital and one Hammer Gel.
Event warmup:

Ran 10 minutes on the route. Slipped in the mud on the way back to car. Did 6 20" strides prior to race.

Comments:

Felt good at the beginning. Ran too fast on the first climb up King George Highway.
What would you do differently?:

Better control of my pace. HTFU a bit more as well.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around for 5-10 minutes. Ate 1/2 banana, mandarin orange, drank Infinit recovery drink.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Went out a little too hard at the beginning of the race. Warmed up too hard as well. Still recovering from a cold with occasional coughing. Lack of HTFU.

Event comments:

Did well considering the forecast was for sun and it ended up raining. Could have moved the first corner to avoid the muddy grass slope coming out of the parking lot. Event seemed to start late.

I was planning on going out for this run, sounds like a good one. Too bad about the rain, well done for a good pace and strong finish!

Thanks!  The results were just posted and believe it or not, that was good enough to get me a first for my age group!  Yay me!  My first age group win!
