Wow, Emerson, you and your wife never cease to amaze me.  Good luck tomorrow.  I'll be at the Basha's parking lot cheering everyone on.  Hope to see you.

Not bad.  Not bad at all for a long run of 6.5 miles!  I came in at 2:50:55, which was in the relative middle of my goal times (2:30-3:15 - love the margin).  I could have hit my 2:45 goal had I not spent 9 minutes in line at a port-a-potty.  Oh well.  I'll try to get to filling out my race report tomorrow or so.  Good effort for the first one.  I managed to uphold my run/walk interval all the way to the end (other than aid stations).

Great job out there everyone and thanks for setting up the FE on Saturday.

I had an awesome race as did just about everyone I knew who ran it. My training partner took 1st place in his AG and a few others came in with very solid times. (My friend Dane ran a 2:52)

I ran a 3:10:27 which qualifies me for Boston, 2010. (I qualified for 2009 last year in Tucson) This result moves me up a corral or two for both 2009 and 2010.

I was 10th Place AG, and 60th Overall

Too bad they are changing the race next year. I probably won't be back if they move the course downtown but you never know. The date conflicts with IMAZ next year so I know next year is a pass.

Actually we've been told that IMAZ will be on the 22nd.  However, if you were looking to both - then an absolute conflict.  Something about wanting to do an expo with El Tour on Sat and the marathon on Sun.  Yeah cuz I want to bike and run in the same weekend....

Well yeah .. if you're gonna do that you might as well swim too and just do IMAZ.

That is what I do on Friday.

Just received this a bit earlier -

I just confirmed that El Tour is going to be held on November 21st, not the 14th, so it doesn’t sound like there will be a big fitness weekend.  And El Tour will still be the same weekend as IM AZ. L

Also, I got an email about the marathon and they are making a final decision this week about the dates.  But given the above info, I suspect the date will remain in Dec.

I didn't hear about this until tonight:

This hits really close to home.  Thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Holy cow!  I read the ADS online everyday and didn't even see this.  A bad year for events in Tucson.  The cyclist from el Tour is still in a medically induced coma.

I wonder what it was.  Certainly wasn't heat that day, maybe it was the chilly weather and just pushing yourself harder because you don't feel as hot.

I just realized that it was an old post...happened in 2006.  Sometimes I don't read too carefully after a couple glasses of wine.

It's still very sad and puzzling how someone so fit could just die like that.
