weather.com historical data for April 5th:

Average High 76°F
Average Low 58°F
Record high 85°F
Record low 41°F

So, yeah, 85 would match a record and be unseasonally warm.

76 sounds like a good temp to me!

What is everyone up to the weekend before the race? I got a 2:30/:30 Brick today  1:00 run Sat and 2500swim/1:30bike sunday ... then its home-free.  I find myself thinking about the race all the time now.... i can't wait to get there and hammer it.

As another note: I just got my bike all set-up like it will be for the race ( had to take change water bottle cages, change seat bag, and remove computer mount/magnet (will have garmin)) and back from the shop who put new chain/cassette. Just wanted to show everyone so you could say hi if you see this bike around. It is unique. I'd be interested to see other's set-ups.

Here's a pic of my ride from IMKY....it's the same, but I changed the saddle.  Not many green bikes out there, so when you pass me, be sure to say hello!

not sure if the actual course is open, but out local TriClub will be nearby offering advice and getting some swim time in.  We'll be there form 7am to 10am on the west side of the bridge near the swim start.  You'll see the GNOTRI flags and tents set up.  come out for a swim and local tips.

Anyone out there who have seen the conditions on the lake? And looks like the weather is promising thunderstorms, does that still look accurate?

Actually the weather forecast is looking better for tomorrow. Partly cloudy, low 60, high 78. Little if any chance of rain. Swam in the lake yesterday. It was a little choppy, maybe with 1 ft seas, not too bad. The water looked relatively clean. There's some mud stirring up from the bottom and some grass cuttings in the water, but not bad at all, considering.

I have a question about this race for 2010. It is a bit of a newbie question but here is goes...lol I see that there is an 8 hour race cutoff time? I am new to the sport so that possibly could be close to what I will come in at. If I make it over the 8 hours, am I disqualified? No completion medal and shirt given? I am trying to decide if it is worth doing if at the end I am all smiling at 8:30 and I am not even offically in the race.

can someone please clear this up for me....thanks!!

Probably a question only the race director can answer for sure, as policies are going to differ from race to race. Not sure what the global NAS policy is. However, if you look at this year's results, some 160+ finishers were over the 8-hour mark. They got "official" finishing times, whether or not they got medals and shirts, I don't know.

I can tell you that RD Bill Burke and his staff are extremely reponsive, so that your question should get a pretty quick answer.

I was at 8:04 I got the shirt and medal and so on.

What I think they meant by that was 8 hours after the last group started. This isn't really fair but I think that's how it went. They had a bunch of folks cross after I did.
