Pre-race routine:

Ate some oatmeal and two bananas around 6:30 at work, then took a shot of Hammer Gel and water around 9.
Event warmup:

We thought the 5 K was going to start after the kids 1 mile fun run started, but it wasn't until a little while after it finished, so instead of starting around 9:20 it didn't start until nearly 9:45, so my little jog with some pick ups that I started at 9:05 just helped build some sweat and chill me off as we stood and waited in the mid 20 degree weather.

Comments:

I hadn't really trained for a 5k, and have never done a 5k, but I figured I'd start easy and pickup the pace every mile. I wanted to break 24 minutes. I felt good and warmed up about a mile in.
What would you do differently?:

Not warm up so soon.

Warm down:

I crossed the finish line, grabbed some water then ran back into the sub street were I figured I'd find TwoHearted. I found her and ran with her trying to give her some pace booty and some pacing help.

Event comments:

This was a close to home race and was for a good cause, the Epilepsy Foundation, I didn't expect much from it but everything went real well. There were a lot more runners then I expected. They had some bagels, fruit and water afterwards along with a decent raffle. Though I think they were running short on some items as there were quite a few race day registrations. The only thing they could do better is just set a time for the start of the 5k, as we ended up standing around in the cold longer then anticapated.
