They may have altered the run course slightly. I noticed some arrows going up on the greenbelt that aren't the original course. I know the greenbelt was flooded for part of it but I checked today and it appears to be clear again. Even if they did change the run course it will be just as easy but not as scenic.

Anyone know if and where I can find Profile Design Aerobar pads in Boise?! I went for a ride today and noticed I must have lost one last weekend during my travels. It will be a very uncomfortable ride with only one arm pad

There are several places that probably sell those. Ken's Bicycles Warehouse, Georges Cycles, World Cyclery, Bobs Bicycles.

So I made it here and maybe I'm just a wimp, but it seems  a whole lot cooler than I anticipated.....I'm glad I packed my arm warmers for the bike but am wondering if I shoulda brought something meatier :-) !

And the locals are right, the whole "showers thunderstorm" thing seems to be a passing gig.  Yesterday it seemed like it was rolling in for a good one and before ya knew it, it was gone..... while the hubster and I were the only dorks in Grove Plaza running for cover Tongue out

Yeah unfortunately they are calling for possible thunderstorms now on saturday. The temp is below normal right now as well but it should be a nice temp for racing.

I'll be heading down to do athlete check in today. I'm wearing a bright yellow 2009 spring sprint triathlon shirt so if you see me feel free to say hi.

I'm in Boise and got checked in tonight. Thanks for the help on the aero pad. Unfortunately, I'm an idiot and do not have profile design bars, but OVAL CONCEPTS bars. They had all the profile design pads at the expo, but not oval concepts. Does anyone know if any of the bike shops would have Oval Concepts aero pads and what their address is?

What do y'all think about the weather?

Stupid "threat" of thunder storms.

Fingers crossed that they stay in the distance.

Oh and a blue bike bag. Did anyone get this? There were no stickers for a blue bike bag and no blue bike bag...

Oh, a-ha-ha-ha-ha.  I only "laugh" because as an OCD first timer, I went back down to the "Solutions" box and was chastised that "It said in the AThlete Guide there were only three" Even though the envelope says four.  Yeah, like I memorized the whole stinking 72 pages.  Give me a break.  My husband said "i'm sure you're not the only one who will wonder about the blue bag."

Apparently you're supposed to have your bike stuff in the black bag or otherwise hanging on your bike -- NOT ON THE GROUND -- when you come into T1 after the swim.

There are wet suit strippers.

You stuff your wetsuit, goggles and whatever else in that bag and leave it neatly on the ground under your number and take off.

Ok so what about sunscreen, and gels, and all that stuff?!

Hmm, I'm going to look like the world's biggest dork out there.

For your pre-race gear bag.

I thought the athlete meeting last night covered it pretty well.

Weather has been fantastic since I got here yesterday, run course changes look to be of no consequence, and tomorrow is almost finally here! Small brick and then checking in the bike for me today.

If anyone sees a large St Bernard and/or a couple shaggy dogs around the course/town tomorrow, the humans with them would be my husband and/or me!

See, it would help if we went to the meeting *hides sheepishly*.

I had my kids with me and they weren't too keen on hanging around any longer. It's hard to be patient when you're 3!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts. I've had to stay away from BT for a couple of days to "adjust". I am appreciating that I have developed a strong base and am looking for a late season HIM. I have to admit I did get a laugh at the steel toe boots on the final check list. I have a 5K ocean swim in 2 weeks and I will start up training today with my foot in a neoprene bootie.

My wife thinks I'm nuts, but if I had just a couple of more days I would show up just to do the swim and bike. I was even calculating how I could cut out part of an old bike shoe so I could get my foot into it. It would probably set me back, so it is probably better that I don't have those few extra days.

Have fun.

Holy Moly nice weather out there for the race!  Whitecaps, downpoors, wind and puddles on the run!

Post your times so we can see how everyone did.  I was exstatic with my time especialy given the conditions, 5:43:46 here for a overall place of 441.  I have no idea how to find the age placements.
