Run
Comments: 27:35? Me? Ok... I had dreams that I was actually recovered from IMAZ, but NO. As soon as I started, I pulled back, because I could just feel that my legs were still fatigued. Anyway, started behind Evelyn and her bf. caught up with them and ran with them for a while, until I slowed down again. Not a pretty run, but today wasn't the day to push the legs. Post race
Warm down: Walked around. Waited for my parents and younger daughter, who is tapering for Junior Olympics next week. My wife asked if any of us placed. I said no. Today... of course. I discovered that a 25:13 was good enough to come in first in the women's 16-18 division. My wife is not going to forgive me from not staying to watch Evelyn go up to the podium. What limited your ability to perform faster: Hmmm.... not race after a week after an Ironman? It was just a fun race with my family, nothing serious. Event comments: Man, this race is shrinking. It use to be the Run to the Far Side, and was 10x bigger. Then Gary Larsen stopped sponsoring it, and people stopped wanting the t-shirt which had Far Side Cartoons on it. Anyway, it's a fun little race, and the weather this year was absolutly perfect. Last updated: 2008-11-30 12:00 AM

Got up around 5:30. Got ready to go to breakfast with the parents, and the kids' friends. The kids' friends were late, of course, but we still had a very nice (big) breakfast at Millies. Very very tasty, but not generally considered to be good pre-race food :)
Drove down to SF, got registered and picked up the t-shirt about 15 min before the race started.
Got to the race line as the organized warm up was starting. I'm just not that into organized sports, so I did some light stretching.
