Competed in my third IM WI – first ever DNF with 9 miles left to go ...

And I was saddened.

2008- The year of Ironman Kentucky for me. Jan-Aug was all about IM training. I only raced 1 time before going to do the Ironman. Crossed the finish line and have been taking it easy ever since.

2009- All about having fun and training/racing with friends!

I'm doing a walking marathon with a friend in May, (she hasn't even walked a 5K before last month), helping a friend learn how to swim so she and I can do a tri together, I'll do the local races I missed out on in 2008 and end my year with the Longhorn Half Ironman in Austin!

2008 was a year of firsts for me:
+ First Boston
+ First triathlon season (three sprints)
+ First bike event (one for charity, one for total fun)
-  First long term running injury that knocked me out of three races (got hit by a bike in Aug

I have high hopes for 2009:
+ Getting my running health back fast enough to do Boston again
+ Becoming a stronger swimmer (my limiter today)
+ First Olympic
+ First HIM (fingers crossed on this one)

Here is to 2009!

2008 This year was a bit of a disappointment from a performance standpoint. I took a step back with my bike performance (most likely a result of reduced training...or getting old) From a social aspect, had an awesome time at my races with the Donkeys.

2 Du (disappointing results in both)

2 sprints (one turned into Du)

2 Olys (two weeks apart) pr'ed both

1 HIM pr'ed, but disappointing performance

1 5k, 1 10k (pr), 1 15k (pr with costume), 1 1/2 mary (pr)

2009

still in the works but prob, similar to this year: 2 sprints, 2 olys and a HIM

Goals for '09 to pr races with sub 6:30 (maybe sub 6 ) for HIM, eliminate bike as a limiter.

maybe... a fall Mary.

2008:
Lots of swim meets
One sprint distance triathlon
One olympic distance triathlon (my first!)
One 5K (with a personal best time by 3 minutes!)

2009 goals:
Get better at running (I want to bring my 5K time down even more!)
Join the track/cross country teams at my school
Do a couple more sprint/olympic distance triatlons
I'd also love to run a half mary.
