I believe the Saturday pasta dinner is included in your race fee. You can usually also purchase tix for the Saturday dinner for your family/friends at the expo on Friday and Saturday.

I forget where I read it , but supposedly they take 3 measurements along the swim course and average them.

I have no problem with a non wetsuit race....

I am hitting the road in another hour or so. Going to be construction traffic through RI on my way up. Gotta pick up a friend coming with us on the way. Way overpacked I think. Weather looks interesting....

I want my wetsuit. I have an Xterra Velocity++. However aside from trying it on once I have not had a chance to test it out yet.

That looks cool Aaron.  I assume you got that for Kona...It'd be cool for you to test out.

For me it's a speedtube and speedvest or tri shorts and that's it!  No full wetsuit for me in that temp.  I'd be sweating my arse off in a full sleeve...

Uggh. We may be drowning while still on land!!!!!
thunderstorms are now in the mix a bit. This could really mess things up.

What happens with such a big race for bad weather? Do they just try to do it Monday? I know that it is a MAJOR undertaking putting on a race, and simply moving it to another weekend is far from easy or feasible.

Keeping optimistic. packing tonight, leaving in the AM. Camping in gunstock....hope my tent doesnt get hit by lightning.

Great job everyone.  You guys had some humid weather.  I took over 200 pics, so PM me if you want the link to my web gallery.  Special congrats to Rob(rcberto) and Helen(aquagirl) and I think Beth(trirific10) for their first HIM.

Quick hits....

(1) Got a flat....bummer. Roads were really good, then I went over a section and said to myself....was that glass????? Then 20 secs later....pssssssssss. Ugggh. Watched over 100 of you guys go by!!!!

(2) Saw someone with a flat later, and they said all they needed with a pump. I didnt get it back before leaving the race today....if anyone has a story of a some dude that turned around to give a pump, holler at me. I'd like to get it back! :-)

(3) It was a lot more humid than folks realized I think. Lots of walkers on the course (MYSELF INCLUDED!!!!!)

(4) Was that swim the full distance? If so, then I'm getting faster!!! :-)

Sorry, and the main stat....my unofficial Timex Ironman watch time: 6:41 including flat / transitions / etc. I'll take it for my first HIM. Think If I could have controlled my stomach during the run, and not had a flat, I could be a little quicker. Oh well....good swim and bike day! (short of the flat).

I posted a note regarding this on the Timberman forum, it may have been turned in to lost and found if you're lucky.  http://timbermantri.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=10668#10668

I had a good time volunteering, and was totally wiped out after 2 furious hours of wetsuit stripping!  Got to high-five Cat several times during the day and saw a few other BT-ers as well.

Thanks!! but that was actually my 2 and 2/3.. Never saw you the whole time but thanks for coming up and cheering us on and spectating!..also  a special thanks to Rob for coming back to the parking lot nightmare at the end and giving us a lift back up to Gunstock! Slugger told us there was nearly a brawl in the line when she left!:/

It was a painful race..had tons of fun but not exactly my best race ever!

Great job everyone!  Does anyone know when (or if) the live video feeds will be archived?  I'd like to take a peak!

Keith, fantastic race.  Hopefully the Zamboni ice can be a regular feature!
