Pre-race routine:

hung out and caught up with some people we knew.

Event warmup:

Ran for about 5 minutes, long enough to get warm. Stopped at the car and dropped off some layers.

Comments:

Plan was to go out easy for the first couple of miles. Took us seven minutes to cross the start line - thankfully the feaster is chip timed. Kept things well in check on the first mostly level half mile, weaved in and out of people. Stayed well within myself on the hill, then started steadily increasing effort once the downhills started. Almost booted on the last hill to the finish, but managed to keep moving over the finish line.

What would you do differently?:

Not one thing. Best run race ever.
