steveseer - 2009-11-13 11:14 AM So for those first timers...now that we've had a week to let it sink in.  Who is:

b) Will do antoher.
c)  Still Undecided

I'm pretty sure I'll do another eventually.  2011 at the earliest however.

Great question!

I've already signed up for IM Wisconsin. About 20 or so people in my tri club are also doing Wisconsin so I couldn't resist. I'm already planning next season!

BTW, I still have my wrist band on!

What a great day. I want to say again thanks to all of you for your questions and answers. I was hoping to meet more of you but it was my 7 month olds first beach trip and I wanted to be respectable of that. Congrats to everyone who finished this. I made my goal time and hit 14 on the nose. I am not one and done. I promised my wife only every other year. 2011 is not that far away, right? Have a wonderful offseason everyone.

Got my m-dot tat today, anyone else get theirs yet?

Thinking about trying to wear the IMFL race bracelet all the way until IMAZ next year. I barely even notice its there and that would have to be some kind of record. haha.

Not yet, still deciding what design and where!  Post a pic!  Definitely would have to be a record for wearing a bracelet!! LOL!

Love your tat! When are you going to start swimming again? I got my tat last week while we were in Panama City. It is on my right shoulder. Classic red M Dot with a black outline. I wanted a design around it but hubby and kids said it was too tribal! Lol. I'll probably add to my tattoo after IMFL 2010.

Thanks! I don't plan on swimming for awhile, taking a much needed few weeks off, at least through Thanksgiving

I was a "One and see what happens". During the swim and the bike, which were much harder than they should have been, I swore I'd never do this again. And I had to walk 10 of 26 miles and took nearly 6 hours on the 'run'.

But it didn't take more than two days and me and my coach/sister are already discussing which one is next, for both of us. Whatever it is, it will be 2011. 2010 has us doing Survival of the Shawangunks and at least one marathon - not sure if it'll be spring or fall. My first marathon was during my first Ironman, and I want a shot at actually running 26.2 miles. I think I can crack the 4 hour mark.

We're debating which one to do. Lake Placid is a strong possibility, but some of the smaller, (slightly) less expensive Iron Distance events appeal to us. Bridge 2 Battleship or Cedar Point. We're also considering Silverman, but I'd like to save that bike ride for when I REALLY want to hurt myself!

I haven't decided on tat. If I get one, I think it will be a wraparound arm design on my right bicep, just below the jersey tan line. It will be viewable while riding, but I can hide it with longer polo shirt sleeves for biz meetings and such. The design will include the text, "Én vagyok a Vasember" done in script. That's more or less Hungarian for "I am an Ironman". After I figure out a design I'll have it put onto a T or tech shirt first. That's a little less... permanent.

I finally took off the bracelet. Had to have a friend cut it off - I couldn't do it. It's with all the other things waiting to be put into a shadow box.

I'll definitely do another one.  I wish I was already signed up for a different race next year.  I did the Community Fund slot this year which is expensive.  It was such an amazing experience though.  Unfortunately, I missed all the BT get togethers down there so maybe next time.

I got my tattoo last night and plan to add a symbol for each Ironman I do.

Why do I keep checking this thread – Separation anxiety? For the record I’m still wearing my bracelet.

I'm thinking I'll do another one (already asking folks which other events they liked, and scanning the course profiles).  ;-)

Looks like it'll be 2011, though.  Other goals in store for 2010!

Cheers,
Mark

Until Nov 7th , I had never had the desire to get ink, that changed after 140.6 miles

The swim/bike/runners repeat around the leg.

Just finished getting Mdot tat
