My 2009 goals:

  • Do as many MBAA mountain bike races as I can and not finish last in the Sport category in my AG.
  • Do 7 laps for our team at 24 Hours in Old Pueblo.
  • Finish at the front of the pack in my AG at the Tucson Tri in March and Firecracker in July.
  • Podium in AG at the Deuces Wild XTERRA.

I'll have to add more to this list later in the year since the XTERRA schedule isn't out yet, and my entire season depends on that. But this is what I know for now.

I don't post on here as much as I should, but I'm hoping posting this here will make me feel more accountable for this...

--Finish top 5 in my age group at IMAZ 2009

--Sub 4hr RnR AZ 2009

--Aquire and KEEP my six pack all year

--Find and complete at least 5 bike races (never raced bike only before)

--Finish all 5 DBC Adventure 2.4 mile open water swims in under 1 hr

--Get promoted twice at my new job (lol its actually possible, I swear)

I'm sure I'll think of more later, but thats it for now...

I apparently have NO goals for 2009 other than surviving Ironman.  Well, not just surviving it, but actually enjoying it without being in TOO much pain!

I'd say that was a pretty good goal!

Yep! Duo co-ed with the hubby. I did 4 laps at Dawn 2 Dusk which was a 10 hr race, so I figure the other 3 in 14 hrs should be doable.

I have one important one.

Find a job that will not be eliminated due to the economic pressures of the economy.

Robot- Good thread.

I really only have one main goal this year aside from the previous post.

1) Show up physically and mentally prepared to complete IMAZ.

2) Complete IMAZ in a good physical and mental state before the clocks are turned off. I will strive to do my best but at the end of the day, I simply want to finish.

3) Celebrate with the BTers and ESCKTC once I complete IMAZ.

Some others to get me to the start line of IMAZ are Vineman 70.3, Seattle RnR 1/2 marathon. Escape from Alcatraz (applied for lottery) and the NYC marathon (lottery). I'll add some other races along the way. Purchase a tri-bike.

I am chillin' in 2009 in that I only "plan" to do two events-

1. Sedona Marathon in Feb, 2009

2. IMAZ in Nov, 2009

The rest of the year I plan on either being an undeclared grad student or being accepted into a program.  All training is related to running so that I can complete a race without the walk!

Ironman Boise 70.3 2009

Ironman Arizona 2009

I'll hit several other races, but those are my two A races. My intention is to enjoy them as much as I can, which pretty much means I will not be racing for a time goal, but to finish an hear the words.

Other goals are to continue to build my core so my bulging disk becomes less of a hindrance, improve my swimming technique and endurance, win a gold medal at either (or both) of Tour of Phoenix and Tour of the Tucson Mountains. All of these are really in support of the two above.
