That's very exciting! I've never been to Vancouver myself. I hear it's fantastic and it sounds like you've been before.  I would love to go. The closest I've been is the Okanagan Valley - where Ironman Canada is.

juniperjen - 2009-04-21 12:11 AM Magda - that's so exciting that your race is so close now!! :D Are you feeling ready? You've been doing some awesome training!

Krystyna - way to go on your half marathon! sounds like you've come a long way since your knee surgery!

As for me I am coming along I have a 10k running race this weekend. I haven't raced a 10k since I started running in 2005. So, I expect a PR. Though, I am not doing any specific race prep and no taper or anything.

I am also happy to report that swimming is coming along nicely!  I picked up the beginner swim program from this site and i am into the third week now. I am really happy with the structure and it gives a good sense of where I am. The swims are still short but I need to remind myself that I am a true beginner in this!

Oh and it's starting to warm up here which is a breath of fresh air for training! :D So much nicer to go out for runs in daylight AND i think i'll actually be taking my bike outside soon!! :D :D

Thanks Jen! Yes I am super excited. I am feeling good. I know I will be slow but I think I am fit enough for the distance. The run will be a lot of hard work but luckily its at the end!

I am really glad to hear you're swimming is coming along. Good luck for your 10k race this weekend! I hope you get that PR

Regarding the weather, we have the opposite here! Its getting dark early now and its very cold in the mornings, this morning I was swimming outside in 7C/45F, luckily its a heated pool! Then I took my husband's car in for a service and rode my bike home, I had to get out my arm warmers and wind vest!!!

Magda- that's too bad about the colder weather ... it's always kind of sad to leave summer behind!

As for my race i've just had the realization that I need to be biking WAY more!! I still haven't been outside and my duathlon is a 30k bike in less than a month! eek! So, i am going to do a long bike this weekend and let the 10k be whatever it is.  I am pretty sure i'll PR no matter what ... my running partner really wants to kill it so i don't think i'll be able to keep up.

Hey Jimmy - how's it been going  for you? Do you have a race coming up??

I think my training has been going really well. I've been neglecting the bike as I have a duathlon with a 30k bike in just a few weeks so i really have to get outside so much more. Though, i got out last night in some wonderful summer weather!

AND! I was very happy because I set a fantastic new PB in the 10k distance. True, i haven't run a 10k race since 2005 when I started running but it was a really good pace for me.

How about everyone else?? Magda - your race is soon!! Feeling some race jitters?

My gosh, I remember when we first became a group with you as a mentor, Magda, and all races felt SO far away. Now yours is almost upon you!! GOOD LUCK and, most importantly, have a blast!!

Hi team! I'm back! The race was AMAZING the the feeling of finishing it was out of this world. I still can't quite believe that I did it! I highly recommend racing HIM!

Jimmy also did a HIM on the weekend, well done, how are you pulling up?

What has everyone else been up to? I have a quiet day at work today so I am going to swing by all of your blogs and check up on you

Had a nice quiet and slow run this morning. Feeling good; still a little sore but not bad. Now it is time to find the next race.

I'm the same - I'm a bit lost trying to think about what to do next! I've settled on just maintaining my fitness for now. We're in autumn here now and tri season is over. I'll probably enter a few running races over winter. We're focusing on non-sporty goals for now like finally getting around to renovating our kitchen!

X 2, I would love to do a full IM but at this stage I can't see how I would have the time to do the training with the hours I work.

Maybe you could aim for another HIM, and aim to get better on the hills, or choose one with a flatter course?

Or if you're not up to another HIM again, maybe an Olympic?

Good morning team!

I hope you're all enjoying nice weather where you are. It looks like our winter has finally started - today there are strong winds and lots of rain. But this is about as bad as it gets so I can't really complain

Good Morning Everyone!! Looks like the local running club wants me to do a 12 hour endurance race with them the first saturday in August. I will probably do that race and look for an Oly tri in July. How is everyone else doing?
