Subject: What do you do?

Since last summer I have been checking this website, reading the forums in an effort to get more aquainted with the tri community. Today I was thinking it might be fun to hear what people do for a living. I know traithletes come from every walk of life, so it might be fun to share what it is we all do when we are not training.

I'll start: I sell envelopes. Not something many people think about, but chances are when you go to your mailbox each and every day you have up to 5 pieces of mail from a direct mail company (BMG, Columbia house, Publishers Clearing House) The company I work for makes these. If you've ever had your film developed (yes people still use real film) at Target, Walmart, any of the online companies. We make those too. So those envelopes that clog your mailbox each and everyday are what pay my bills.

I am a Video Conferencing Administrator for a department in the Canadian Federal Government. I was originally in regular IT but I decided to give this a try and I like it so far. Its a new initiative from our Minister so its moving along a bit slower then i`d like but its a different view then the old Novel stuff and just regular computer stuff.

And it pays the bills

Means I travel about 50% of the time and work from home the other 50%.

I'm a music royalty accountant.  I audit major record labels on behalf of major music artists that you probably have all heard of as well as act as a royalty department for indie lables that cannot afford to hire full time royalty accountants.

mmmmm...I love me some chocolate TCBY with granola and strawberries!!  I am a homeschooling mom-certified personal trainer-and soon to be certified triathlon coach.  I am also a chef, chauffeur, housekeeper, nanny and animal care giver   Now if I could just get paid for all that!!

I have an MA in creative writing. I deferred a PhD program to teach HS (see if I like it--I don't) and will likely be pursuing my PhD this coming year. Who knows from there?
