I am secretly adicted to MTV Made.  I just saw an episode where they "made" this chubby kid into a triathlete.   He was on all kinds of medication for obesity related issues.  Super nice story.

do you really think he did it?? I saw it too - the race day shots were definitely staged and Im kind of wondering if he pulled it off. I hope so b/c it was a nice story. Wonder where he is now and if he's still training. There were lots of times I thought he was gonna quit. Hmmm..not much of a show that way, huh.

I've seen this one too...awhile back though...I kept commenting on his feet...if I remember right weren't his feet really large which in turn made him run funny....Other than that it was a great story...wouldn't mind finding it on and DVRing it

Hulu is a beautiful thing, my friend.

Ack, sorry! www.hulu.com is a site where you can find pretty much any TV show ever produced (for free and legal). It just so happens that most of the MTV Made videos are available on the MTV site, so it links to there. My bad!

And I saw a Made episode where they make this chubby, adopted, black-sheep kid into a triathlete too, but it has to have been at least 5 years ago. In fact, it inspired me to want to do one, because I thought, "If this kid can do one, I definitely can."

I guess the "triathlete" episode is something they keep going back to.

My wife is trying to convince me to cancel our cable and just use Hulu and netflix for all our video entertainment needs.  I don't think it's going to happen, but if I was on a tight budget and had to cut something out, this would work.  Plus when my daughter deleted a Simpsons episode I had missed from the DVR, I was still able to watch it.  It's not too hard to imagine the near future with a convergence of streaming video and on-demand access via the internet that finally really does integrate TV and computers.

Yes, he did it. I raced the race he did and passed him on the bike. (he did the sprint, me-HIM) He had a huge cheering section. I didn't realize at the time that the cameras were for him. If I can find his results I'll post them and the link. Still trainig? we'll see, I'm going to look for him next year.

i was at the race where this kid did his tri.  2 years later i met the coach at the same race, just hanging out.  I asked if he still talked to the kid after the show was over.  He said after the show they never talked again.  The coach was a super nice guy.

If I recall correctly, the first MADE they ever did was about a kid wanting to be a triathlete. Many moons ago, they MADE another kid from the same high school and he made an appearance.
