Subject: Just wanted to share I introduced myself a few weeks ago. Since then I had to have some minor surgery (prevented me from doing anything for a little while, went away on vacation, and then have been navigating through the Holidays with 3 kids and lots of family. But...I was able to get 2 runs in while gone for 6 days on vacation and I officially started tri training yesterday. I am going to follow the "couch to sprint" program (add two days of strength training as well) and the plan is to compete in mid May. I already have a small base in running (competed in a 5k about a year ago) and have maintained the ability to still run for about 15 minutes. I was so excited yesterday that I swam, ran and biked yesterday. I was only supposed to swim and run, but I felt good and the distances are pretty short and even though I am not where I need to be I also don't consider myseld a true couch potato. Today was a bike and strength day...stuck to just those. I just wanted to share that I took advantage of the first real chance I had to get started and even though I am little sore today and will be for a little while I am sure...I feel good! I am a terrible swimmer and even after just a short period in the pool I could feel myself getting more comfortable and the same can be said on the bike. I did not even own a bike until 4 days ago. I am excited and looking forward to tomorrow's swim and run to see what adjustments I can continue to make. I have seen a lot of encourgement on this site, so I wanted to share how excited I am after two days and looking forward to the 3rd. Happy New Year! |
