I have two other friends who will be heading down from Austin to Galveston for this race. Anyone else in Austin plan on taking part?

I lived in Austin last 9 years, my job just took me to Clear lake area/Nasa (Southeast of Houston) and I live in League City now (23 miles to seawall in galveston). I'm in for the half. I plan on being down there for saturday and of course sunday

I haven't registered yet bc I'm waiting on my company to tell me whether or not they'll be sending me to Santiago that weekend. I'm still training for the event, but I don't want it to fill.

Worst case scenario I sign up and can't race, then I'm only out a bit of money and not the experience.

Yeah, like I trust the weather folks... it's almost a good thing they are predicting rain at this point; since they're usually wrong

Stupid question time for those that have done the Half before: what time to you try to get to transition? I don't want to have to spend more time than necessary sitting around, given the later start for the half as compared to the quarter. But if it's open racking, I also don't want to end up stuck in a back corner either.

It is NOT open racking.  You will have an assigned rack spot per your race number.
