Run
Comments: A very good run for me this morning. It was cold at first but most of the course was shielded by plenty of trees. I would say only about 1mi had a headwind. I had one very short extra walk break towards the middle, but I was messing with getting my nutrition out. What would you do differently?: I would go ahead and run on that last uphill portion right before the finish line. Post race
Warm down: Walked arounf for about 5m, got a couple of KK donuts and some orange pieces. No stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: The headwinds at times. Event comments: Too bad they ran out of swag before I got to the finish line (head tobagon). At least I got a decent sweatshirt! Grapwvine Runners and Walkers are really beginning to up the ante on their races. I enjoyed the race last year and this year had some very good improvements (mainly the sweatshirt), plus my Half-Marathon coach from 2007 was an assistant race director this year! Go Janet! Woke up @ 5:45 and had a packet of oatmeal and 1 1/2 pieces of toast for breakfast. Left the house around 6:30.
Had to stop for go-go juice on the way out (oops).
No formal event warmup. Walked 1/4mi down the trail then jogged back. Stretched for 5-7m and headed down the road to the start line.
