Pre-race routine:

15 minutes at home on indoor trainer with stretching
Event warmup:

Just a light jog from check-in to the starting line!
Run
  • 50m 43s
  • 6.15 miles
  • 08m 15s  min/mile
Comments:

Switched it up from shorter strides to long and loose legs. Tried to think competitively-picked someone to pace off of and then passed her in the last 50 yards or so.

The incline at the opposite end of the start feels AWESOME. I love how it stretches out my calves, so I tried to make up the gap between my rabbit and I here.
What would you do differently?:

My effing shirt (I customized on NikeID.com, love the shirt) was riding up so I had to take off a glove, pull up my jacket and pull down the shirt, pull down the jacket, put glove back on about 5 times during the race. A LOT of wasted energy and frustration. So, I'd TUCK MY FREAKING SHIRT IN next time!!!!
Post race
Warm down:

Chatting with people I knew and some that are triathletes racing/have raced in same races as me

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Damn shirt riding up.

AND

I can't believe it...I crossed the finish line and started dry heaving. NEVER done that before. Guess I really wanted to beat that girl ahead of me.

Event comments:

I'm very thankful that there are people willing to organize this race. Kudos to the guy that gets to stand near the turn around at the park entrance for having a smile on the whole time.
