Subject: new fat guy here

Hi,

As the title implies, I am quite a bit overweight.  The doc has been on me to do something so I decided, what the heck, why don't I work towards participating in a sprint before my 45 bd.  I live in the Pacific Northwest and am actually excited about this journey!

Hi Brian! Welcome to BT and congratulations on your decision to tri. You'll find really good support here and plenty of people who are working on weight management (myself included!)

You might consider joining one of the Beginner Triathlete Mentor Groups that are open (it has its own forum here), but you'll also find lots of good stuff in the Weight Loss Forum and the Athena and Clydesdale forum.

Brian,

 Welcome. This is an awesome site and I hope you find it as useful as the rest of us. The best news about being a triathlete - is we don't use the "f_t" word here - Clydesdale/Athena sounds much, much better. That forum is awesome and you will run into many of us who have the same goals/objectives as yourself. Take things one step at a time and best of luck!
