Hrm...do you do his spin classes on wednesdays or thursdays?

I did the Friday morning class last year when he was my coach.

Now, I spend that time slacking.

I'm #268. I'll be out there with dark blue zoot shorts, and a white tribe shirt.

I don't start until 9:01:45

I'd love to hear about this from those who raced....

First, it was damn cold. I rode over to the race to watch for a while and it was damn cold. Aside from that, I thought the course was a little weird.

  • There was traffic on Sweetwater. Saw cyclists have to slow down by the bike in, bik out due to a car or two
  • The bike in, bike out could have been better marked. They need a sign that said "STAY RIGHT". Lots of cyclists just cruising along while others where trying to get back into transition after their laps.
  • No cop or volunteer on the corner of Sweetwater & Scottsdale?  With as much traffic that goes on Scottsdale, they should've had a pointer of someone there in case someone took the corner too wide.

Just my thoughts from what I saw on this little stretch of the course

OMG I raced!

Got to meet Slidell4life, he was #267, I was #268.

I was paranoid that the water would be cold, but it was heated and great, steam rising off of it at 6:30 in the morning when I'm shivering was fun. Once I realized the pool was warm, I was afraid the run from the pool to T1 would be cold, but by the end of the swim, I hardly noticed.

I wasted a bit of time in T1 because I kept feeling like I forgot something.

The bike ride was nice and flat, I waved at the police every time I passed them. Starting off my legs felt a little achy, I did a 12 mile ride the morning before with Nick at South Mountain. But after the first lap it wasn't so bad. The only traffic that seemed like it shouldn't be there was coming back on Sweetwater from Hayden.

The run is where I have the most trouble, but it wasn't so bad, it was flat, and straight, and I could just concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other.

Unfortunately, despite my calling my wife twice to remind her to bring the camera, she did not, and all I have for pictures is a single one from her cell phone. Meh.

But I did get two t-shirts, a big tub of "heed" (electrolyte drink powder from hammer), and a 5th place ribbon.

Yeah, I'm going to be registering for the one on the 8th tonight when I get home and I think the one in lake havasu on the 21st. There's a whole bunch in that time frame 21st, 22nd, 29th, I'm trying to pick one of those.
