Taegrr,

Some of us are getting a group together each Wednesday at 4:30 on Power/McDowell. You'll have the option of biking or running if you'd like to join us.

If you're not able to make that, we're also getting together some weekend bike rides.  Although I won't be doing the race you posted, I'd be more than happy to get together for some workouts some evenings if our schedules allow.

Send me a PM or an inspire if you're interested!

4:30 is about 30 minutes before I get off work, and about 1.5 hours before I get home. Though I might be able to work it into my schedule to go in early on wednesdays to get off earlier, but I'll have to confer with my boss for that.

As for weekend rides, definitely, once I get my bike (5 more days on the ebay auction I bid on, and then probably another week until it arrives. So until then I'm doing a bit of running and swimming at the gym and in my neighborhood.

Hey ppl, I will be in Sierra Vista for a few weeks and am thinking of doing this triathlon. Any of you done it before? I'm from Georgia, so any details would be great! the site doesn't tell me much, and the course picture is a just that, a picture.

Thanks for any input!

I actually thought about doing this one, but the morning after Valentine's Day, really?  I'm sure my legs will be shot from Saturday night...

Oh, wait...I'm married, I don't do that anymore...I should be good to go

Open the printable version of the entry form to see distances, and times.

This is a great race if you have children as they race first (you can accompany them on he bike leg) then you race.  Awards for his races usually go 5 deep in each age group and the winners of the race overall (top five gals and guys) are removed from age group ranks for race prizes.  This means that there are tons of people that place who may never have placed before (one of the reasons I did some of his races )

But one warning: Sierra Vista is not as close to Scottsdale as it may look (although closer than Georgia).

I heard great things about this race, so I'll be doing it.

Taegir, I thought you got your bike already. I'm confused.

Sounds like fun, but I think Dean and I are going to join Rick on the Lost Dutchman half marathon that day. So many races to do, so little time!

I have a co-worker who will be doing the race with me as well. It will be his first triathlon.

Also, I'm working with Nick Goodman from Durapulse Performance now and hopefully that will have a nice impact on this first tri.

I did the JCC fall tri last year.(my 4th tri ever)  It was a great race.  The course was pretty flat on bike and run, so it's perfect for someone's first triathlon IMO.   Good luck!

Nick will definitely help you out. Prepare to be very tired for a long time.

I couldn't have had the IM I did without his coaching.
