Total Time = 5h 18m 33s
Overall Rank = 8542/14940
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 5147/7801
Pre-race routine:

Got up at 2:30, drank coffee, ate bagel with peanut butter, drank a glass of NOExplode and 48 oz of water on the drive over to the race site.
Event warmup:

Stretching, walking around. Being nervous, if that counts.
Run
  • 5h 18m 33s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 12m 10s  min/mile
Comments:

My hamstrings tightened up somewhere around mile 17, lost my 4:30 pace group in the crowd at mile 12 and faded.
What would you do differently?:

I would run with the 5:00 pace group, 4:30 was too aggressive for my fitness level. I would also do more long runs during training.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and then laid down for a bit. Drove home and napped.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough long miles in training.

Event comments:

Great first Marathon, kept it entertaining and fun. I would recommend to anyone thinking of doing a marathon to do this race as your first.

Great job.  Sunday at Disney was my first as well and I would have loved to have had your finish time.
