Pretty bike. I think I might be able to recognize it on the racks

I recommend you at least try the wetsuit in the pool if you won't have a chance to try it for OWS before the race.

Hope to meet you on Sunday!

Wow nice ride! hopefully after my bike just falls apart I can actually focus on another bike. I don't know how well I would do if I get another bike. I love my bike because it is a multi-sport model. I like the color sheme on your bike though. I will be there as well, so good luck on race day and of course I hope you break in your wet suit! On the Rumpass and Bumpass Triathlon I broke out my new wet suit and did not Break it in and I sure did pay for it on Race day.

According to VTS:

5/5/09 - Kinetic Water Temperature Update - Currently 68F

The marina's last update on 4/24 said 61F. I suspect the real temperature is somewhere in between.

It is also showing that this weekend will be partly cloudy and no rain.

- I hope this remains true.

Yes, my girlfriend warned me about the new suit and of course it really cut my neck bad. I think I will be stetching mine out tomorrow night at the local pool that I train at on Fort Belvoir. All I know is that if it was my choice I would not wear it.

Setup doesn't usually post bib numbers. It's not an Ironman. You just have to show your photo ID at packet pickup, and you get your number then. They don't do them alphabetically, either. My last name starts with A and my race number for Setup races has been anwhere from double to triple digits.

Some races do, some races don't; I didn't remember from last year. Knowing bib numbers makes it easier to seek out BT buddies to meet.

You might want to check the times, because I think that it will be closed only for kid's as well as classes. I know it will open up at 12pm. for lap swimmers, so I would call first.

They are still claiming that the water temp is 68F; hard to believe it's that warm but I hope they are right.

Current weather prediction says that it will be partly cloudy with temps in the low 60's at the start of the race. Unfortunately, they are predicting winds at 10mph. It should be beautiful race weather.

I hope the transition area isn't too muddy from all the rain.

Hope to meet you all at the race. If I do Saturday packet pickup I'll post my race number.

Thanks

I just got back from swimming in a lake an hour west towards the Blue Ridge Mountains where you would expect it to be colder and the water was beautiful. It wasn't Lake Anna but I really would say 66 - 68 degrees.

Well, they are predicting sunny and 62F at race start, but with winds of 10-15mph! Youch!

I'm gonna try to do packet pickup tonight.

Hope to meet you at the race!

Just got back home from the half....water was perfect for wetsuit swimming (NOT cold and you actually didn't mind putting your face it---really a non-issue)!!!  The transition area is a little bit muddy BUT NOT bad considering all the recent rain (not an issue---of course tomorrow you have to deal with whatever rain comes this afternoon/night AND us tearing it up today....).  You guys should have a GREAT day out there---got hot and was humid right from the start this morning---with this cold front you guys should be better off!!!  Enjoy it---should be a beautiful and FUN day!

Great race everyone. Had a great time and met some wonderful people. Possibly even some of you without knowing it. We camped at the park with much success. My goal was to finish and I did. Looking forward to seeing my splits.

I had a pretty poor swim but had a great race overall. I don't think we could have had better weather!

I'm sorry I didn't really meet anyone, although I did recognize Sweetcorn by her bike and said hi (as I was passing her by)
