I'm new to the area and looking for a bicycle shop with a good reputation from Oceanside to San Diego. Any recommendations?

+1 on Nytro in Encinitas.  If you hear anything about bad service, it was probably under the old ownership.  Personally, I have never had anything but great service there.  When you're done, cross the street and go about a block south to Swami's (restaurant) for good eats.

Now, if you like old-skool/fixies/track bikes too, Pacific Coast Cycles in Oceanside (on the 101) is worth a trip.  Chuck is a great guy.  I bought my Surly there.

Ask for Chuck.  He used to work at the Masi factory and has been in the area forever.

Lots of new and used stuff.

Nytro is a great shop for tri bikes and gear, but I mostly go to El Camino Bikes (Encinitas Blvd. & El Camino Real) for service, tune-ups and accessories.  Great crew there ... bought a Trek road bike from them last year and have been extremely happy with the shop.

There's also a Performance Bike shop in Oceanside just off of College Blvd.  Great prices on apparel, which is just about all I've bought there.
