Swim
  • 18m 19s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 26s / 100 meters
Comments:

Very comfy swim today, sighting was a bit tough in to the sun, but happy with how 'easy' it felt today. started at the back as usual, moved through a few people pretty quickly, found a good set of feet to draft off and followed them pretty much the whole way, in hindsight they were prob a little too slow, but that what this race was for, just to see where I was at.
What would you do differently?:

A bit more swimming will bring my pace back, and my feel for my pace.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

This went ok.
Bike
  • 40m
  • 20 kms
  • 30.00 km/hr
Comments:

Sort of happy with the ride, in comparison to others it was about right for me, but I did take it easy in some parts and had to tell myself to concentrate.
What would you do differently?:

Just have to concentrate the whole ride.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

bit of a miss mash transition, awkward to get out of shoes on the bike on this course, so ran in bike shoes, then putting runners on innersole got mashed up the end, took a few goes to get it right.
What would you do differently?:

Tape down my inner soles.
Run
  • 22m 31s
  • 5 kms
  • 04m 30s  min/km
Comments:

Worst run for a long time, really struggled, felt sick for the first km, really struggled to keep a pace, didn't enjoy it much at all.

I think it stems from the bike, I drank too much, and dropped my gel so I think it was the nutrition that let me down. Bit disappointing.
What would you do differently?:

Get it right on the bike...i think this is what let me down at the HIM last time...I hate that Carboshots changed their drink!

Congrats on your race result

It was a great race, I had originally planned to race myself, but injured myself, so came to spectate the race instead.

You did 5kms in 22 min and you call it a bad run? I guess it's all relative, but sounds good to me. Congratulations and Happy Australia Day!

You ran a 4'30" pace run after swimming and cycling and you're disappointed??? I think thats a bl**dy fantastic pace!!! I think its hard to get proper nutrition in during a sprint race, theres not really enough distance to do it properly, with the HIM hopefully you'll have more time to get it sorted. I hate that new Carboshtoz drink too - do you mean the one with no sugar, just electrolytes?

Well done, good race, happy belated Australia Day!
