Subject: Breath of Life 2009 - USAT SW Regionals
Just noticed in the USAT magazine that Breath of Life in Ventura on June 28 is this year's USAT Southwest Regional Championship race (top 5 or top 33%--whichever's larger--in each age group qualify for the AG nationals in Alabama later in the year). My wife and I did it (the Oly) last year and were leaning toward doing it again as a tuneup for our respective IM & HIM August 1--having an outside shot at "qualifying for nationals" in a local race makes it even more appealing.

Anyone else planning on entering...either the Oly or the sprint?

Probably in for the Olympic (depending on date).  It's a good, flat and fast course.

Ooh, I've been looking for a June event and the Redondo Beach Triathlon looked too short. I might even be able to get my family out to this one.  Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks Todd, fits in.   The oly I PR'd at is no longer but hillier, so my expectations are high

As for Redondo, don't sell it short (no pun intended), after the swim it's a frickin all out lung burner.

I did the olympic a few years back and got my one and only flat tire during a race.  After that, I did learn how to fix a flat, although by now I am sure I have forgotten.  I remember it being a good race and I am leaning toward doing it again.
