Comments:

Started off feeling pretty good - a little stiff from being cold but not too bad. My Dad did this race with me and we kept a 2:1 pace throughout. We found another lady from our Saturday run group who joined us. We were hitting just over a 14 minute pace until mile 8 when it was decided we'd pick it up a little. Felt good until about mile 12 and then it was a little bit like work. Again, I was hoping for a sub 3 on this but I wasn't really expecting it since I'd ridden 48 miles the day before and my coach had told me not to "race" this so as not to injure myself. At mile 10 I really had to talk myself out of just taking off and running the rest of the way in - we were so, so close to coming in under 3 hours! I probably did do a sub 3 here since of course they don't stop the clock for bathroom breaks - there were two fast ones (since thankfully there were no lines!). Overall, I felt great the whole race and now I am glad I didn't push it too much as my knees have been a bit twingy, nothing big I just feel them is all. It was a great workout weekend for me. Thanks Todd for shouting my name out just before I finished. I kept looking for people that I knew all morning and it was so crowded I didn't see anybody. So, thanks Todd! It's always nice to see you.
What would you do differently?:

Someday I am going to do a half mary when I don't ride the day before so I can smoke it and get an official sub 3 half.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and found Faeron, got some food and went to the shuttle and went home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Maybe not riding the day before.

Event comments:

This is my 3rd year doing this race. It is always fun - well except last year the weather was horrible. The weather was absolutely perfect. Sunny but not too hot with a nice breeze coming in off the ocean. A beautiful day. Kicks off my race season in a most excellent way.

Glad to be there...happy I spotted you (well, I was actually looking for you, so it would have sucked if I hadn't...LOL). Great job...next stop: Sub-3 hours!

Well done .  You definitively have that sub 3 in you.

Personally i would not do a long workout the day before a race.  But then  that's me

How was parking ?

Yay! Great race! As far as I'm concerned you've already run the sub-3 -- you just need some silly clock to make it official. It still cracks me up that you keep doing these long rides the day before your races. You're so awesomely insane.

Hey Dolores! Sounds like you and your dad had a fun race. I'm sure it's hard not to "race" it and get that sub 3, but I think your coach was right. You don't want to injure yourself. I wish I could have seen you there. I saw the half mary runners on the other side of the street as I was on the way back, and I tried looking, but I started feeling dizzy and lost my concentration, so I quit looking!

GREAT JOB OUT THERE!
