Remember, "Dollhouse" premiers 2/13!

And if you've read the latest issue of the Buffy comic, did you think it was as awesome as I did?

I gotta break out my firefly DVDs and rewatch 'em again.  I aim to misbehave.  ;-)

Yay!

And I miss Firefly... if you can say "miss" when I never watched it when it was live, but only on the DVDs I have now...

Apparently it's been Joss Whedon weekend at our house.  We watched Serenity last night, and tonight was Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.  Too bad we don't have any DVDs of Buffy around.

Good article in the current Rolling Stone about Wheedon's creative difficulties with the network and how this series will be disastrous as a result. Wheedon also swears to avoid TV series going forward while establishing a new paradigm for direct-to-internet shows (a la Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog).

Despite dire predictions and some poor advance reviews, I actually liked DOLLHOUSE alot and think it has alot of potential.  My wife, who has never watched any Whedon stuff liked it as well.  Anyone else?

I wasn't impressed, primarily because I think Eliza Dushku has about a teaspoon's worth of range. Not a good thing when your character is supposed to take on several different personalities. I also didn't think the writing was very good: pedestrian, predictable, bland.

But I like Whedon, and I like the concept. I've really liked other shows that took a while to find their feet (X-Files, for example), so I'll give it time, but I'm going to have a hard time getting over my dislike of the lead actress.

I have to agree with a lot of that.  I think the concept is really interesting.  I'm not totally sold on the execution right now.  I liked the Firefly cast a lot more.  I think it worked better than Eliza Dushku.  I'll keep watching.  Sometimes shows are slow to start off.

I like the concept, not sold on the casting.  I LOVED the Filefly casting but maybe this will grow on me.

I did not care for Dushku on Buffy, but did not mind her in the 1st episode of this.  My hope is he will flesh out the rest of the cast, as he has done on other shows and it won't matter as much.  Then again, she is a producer on the show!
