Comments: First four miles felt great and I was splitting on target under 7:30. Then legs just started to feel heavy and my splits deteriorated from there. Ended up 5 mins slower than the half I did two weeks ago, even though conditions were near perfect. What would you do differently?: Maybe not race the previous two weekends. Although I felt fine I suspect this contributed to my increasingly slow pace. Post race
Warm down: Bagel, Gatorade and walk to the subway What limited your ability to perform faster: As well as being a bit fatigued from the previous two weeks I also think I need to get used to racing on unfamiliar routes, particularly those that have long straights which I don't have much experience of. As I got tired I found that I was finding it difficult to push my pace when I didn't have an obvious landmark to push for (lamposts just don't do it for me!) Event comments: Well organised, fun race and weather was really nice given the time of year. Not the most scenic of courses. Last updated: 2009-02-07 12:00 AM
