OK, Ohio BTches. We're in. Who else?

Looking for a good cheap place to stay. North Kentucky by the airport would be fine, unless someone advises otherwise.

You must think we Ohioans are a bunch of lames.

I'm in! Whoooot! Oh, and I'm completely intimidated by the whole marathon thing. But training is going well and I am optimistic.

I don't have any good hotel recs... we have your typical selection of generic places along the freeways and nicer, more expensive places downtown. I would say that that the N KY places might be the way to go (covington or newport) because they may be a bit less expensive and you can walk across the bridge to the starting line.

Plenty of places by the airport to stay and it really isn't that hard to get to the start on raceday.  See ya there.

I am in, too! We are staying downtown - only because my husband needs to be able to get the two kids to the finish line easily. My 2.5 yr old is signed up for the Fun Run and my 1 yr is signed up for the Diaper Dash. I can't wait!

I'm still in!
Hard to believe, the largest marathon in Ohio and only eight BTers are doing it?

I've been pretty consistent on my long runs--- even when it was under 20 degrees. I figure May 3 should be downright tropical.

My longest training run - 20 miles - is scheduled for this weekend and of course I have family in for Easter-- but it will get done!

I've been taking Monday mornings off from work to do my long run, mainly because I've been racing on Sunday. Will do the ssame this week, only with Easter instead of a race.

This will be my second 20-miler. Following Pfitzinger's 12-week, 55MPW plan with decent success so far, haven't missed more than a couple workouts.

So, no treadmills or indoor tracks in Ohio?Cool Weather down here has been great for marathon training, only now has it started to warm up enough to make it a little challenging.

I'm in, only for the 1/2 though... my training did not go as planned..my mother passed away a little over a month ago and then my training partner got unexpectedly prego with her 6th and has extreme, extreme morning sickness....i'm am just up to 10 on my "long run" ( if you can even call it that).  But I know I can finish, even if it means walking up that hill in Eden Park! Good luck to you pros!

How's the weather looking for race day? I've been following your weather online, looks like you've been getting a bit of rain, but the long-range forecast looks like cloudy but no rain, temps ranging from upper 40s to upper 60s. Does that sound right for that time of year?

When we get a Spring in Cincinnati, this is what it should look like... should be nice and brisk at start time and warm to a comfortable temp by mid morning. If it is going to get into the 70s or 80s, it is not likely to be in the AM. As of today, weather.com is calling for showers on Friday the 1st and saturday the 2nd, with temps starting out around 50 in the morning.

I'm going to host a BT pig pasta party lunch at my house on Saturday (day before the race).  I live about 45 minutes from downtown.  PM me if anyone is interested in attending.  :-

sounds great -- but my family has the nerve to actually have non-marathon related activities going on. Have fun.

I will fit the Expo in sometime saturday, though.

Weather outlook for this weekend might include some rain.  Things have been pretty wet here in southern Ohio for the last few days.  Hopefully the weather will hold off until the race is over.  Best of luck to all BTers at the Pig! This is truely a great race.

What an awesome race! Just finished my first marathon and it went great. I wanted to break 4 and I did! I thought the weather was perfect.

I had a great day and finished upright. Weather was perfect, spectators were awesome and I felt really good through about 22 miles.

I don't know if the results are official yet, but my time changed since last night, and in the wrong direction. I finished at 4:20 according to the finish line clock, and with the time it took me to get across the starting line I think I should be at about 4:16. The official results today have me at 4:23. Nothing for me to get bent out of shape about... just an observation.

I think they must be having issues with the results... I'm not only in the wrong AG (70-74 rather than 35-39), but my time also got slower from last night to this morning - mine looks like it could be clock time rather than gun time.  The time they posted last night looked accurate - was a few seconds from what my watch said - but no longer.

I've emailed them about the discrepancy, we'll see what they do.
