He is a little slow right now but he will be better. he does not believe in a good night sleep yet but I am trying to convince him. He is half Lab and half Golden Retriever so he should also be able to help me on the swimming. The bike might be a different story

My old coach (in my avatar), retired from coaching after 13 years and passed away last summer at the young age of 17

Umm, if you are single, he will also serve as a great match-maker while in the current puppy stage.  Chicks cannot resist a face like that.

Good on you, bro!

He speaks the truth - however, I recently took my roommate's pitbull (very friendly and cute, despite the stereotypes!) to run with me, and his lack of self-control didn't exactly draw those of the opposite sex in my direction!  Though he did attract plenty of mud from the trail...  However, I'm sure your coach will be much better behaved.  :

I'm jealous. I wan't a dog so bad, but I am allergic to cats and dogs, and have a tiny apartment so that's not going to happen anytime soon.

All he needs for a good night sleep is to be i the bed with you.  Worked like a champ with my baby dog who slept in our bed for 14 years !

We have a 7 yo lab/ golden mix.  Can't ask for a better dog.  She retired from running this summer after a case of plural effusion of unknown origin.  It has taken her 6 months to start acting like herself again.

Enjoy your new family member!!

I just got a Lab/Boxer mix thats about 9-10 weeks old right now, but the jury is officially out on that. That will be my first official running coach that I have had from the puppy stages. When do people generally start running with them?

My vet says 1 year.  Because of growth you don't want to do repetitive pounding on pavement when they're still growing.  However if you're lucky enough to have trails to run on then you're probably good starting whenever.  I mean - puppies run...

The off-center white stripe is killing me, I love it!  And, yes, if you're single you're in like Flynn with that little guy.  Get thee to a park and just watch, cause I'd definitely be stopping if I were running by.

His name is Oso (spanish for bear). his is 8 weeks old today. His "off white stripe" is funny, it is like he has his coat crooked like a little kid would.

His eyes are between blue and greenish tint and it is what my wife liked the most about him...
