Swim
Comments: Had a great swim. I really wanted to swim hard to get blood going for the cold-aired ride. I think that strategy worked really well. What would you do differently?: Transition was really slow. I dried my chest off and put a shirt on. I also put on gloves. I was really worried about being cold on the bike. It wasn't an issue. Bike
Comments: Three loops. I was pushing hard, not as fast as some on the downhill, but I think I kept a consitent hard pace. On the backside of loop 3 a truck pulled up next to me and rolled down it's window. It was the race director "Go, Chad Go!" That made me laugh, and I mashed it home. What would you do differently?: Ride faster! Transition 2
Run
Comments: I started fast. At half-mile I started to get really queasy. I slowed down. When I hit the one-mile turnaround I sprinted the way home. I'm glad I did, because I really wanted to beat 50:00. Post race
Event comments: I like this race. It's a nice facility and it's cool to ride on Scottsdale and by the airport. Last updated: 2009-01-30 12:00 AM

Got to the race at 5:30 to get a good rack spot. I didn't have to, though. I could have gotten there late and setup in the kids' racks like some folks.
JCC has a nice warm-up pool. I stood in that water, before my turn to swim.
