Subject: New to the LA area (Playa Del Rey)
Hi all. I just moved to the greater LA area (Playa Del Rey specifically) from the Detroit area. Looking for good sites for local tris and running events. Not having the best luck just finding them via google. Also, any links to local tri clubs would be awesome.

Just starting to get back in shape, and want to do some races. Got a bad case of the lazies after my first marathon, which was in May of last year.

Welcome to the area!

 The LA Tri Club (latriclub.com) is a great resource for training, races, group events, etc. in Los Angeles and surrounding areas.

 BT and active.com are my only other resources for local races and events.

LA Tri club does group rides and runs all the time, all over LA. They also do some great group ocean swims once the water warms up.

I think I remember you from about a year ago when I used to live in Michigan. I used to train a bit with Trixie, Sushigirl, Rick and a few other. I don't think you and I have ever met though. Anyway, I am here in the LA area as well and just started training last weekend after a Loooooonnnnng break. Maybe we could get together for a run or a ride sometime.
