Comments:

Hey, what kind of woman decides to try her 1st 1/2 marathon to mark her 50th year despite the fact that she isn't really a very good runner and has never done more than a 5K in her life and that was more than a year ago? A woman who is not going to let a little silver hair get in the way of trying new things and embracing a challenge that's who! Out of 2044 1/2 mary runners there were 60 women in the 50-59 AG. We gotta step that up!
What would you do differently?:

Recruit even more friends to do the race so the post race party will be even bigger.
Post race
Warm down:

Standing in line at the ladies room.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Right knee, ITB insertion I think, became unexpectantly very painful in the last 1-2 miles. I didn't have anything like it while training so I hope it just goes away quick.

Event comments:

February weather can be very iffy on the Cape but thankfully the heavier rain held off until after I was done. It must have been miserable for the slower marathoners. I would have prefered snow to rain.

Great race Kathy!

What a super way to celebrate turning 50! I need to come up with a hum dinger for my 50th.

I agree we all need to recruit more to race with us...maybe your sister in law?

I hope you recover from your aches and pains quickly and continue to celebrate a great race!

What a great birthday present for yourself.  I was great meeting you, even if it was only for a couple of seconds before the race.  Great job out there.
