Comments: Ran with Tori (Teechur) MM #1021 at the beginning. Some rain was coming down but not enough to bother me. Just tried to maintain some easy pace since training has been almost non existant. Ran with Stan Nakijima later into the first loop and walked the big hill by Semiahmoo. Starting the second loop, filled my water bottle and put two more NUUN tabs in and lost contact with everyone. Ran solo for the last lap. Really ran out any pep. So just shuffled along and did end up doing some 60 and 100 pace walks to break up the monotony of running/shuffleing slow. Did not do any watch/time looking till I got into the park. Saw that I was at 4:43 with about 3/4 of a mile to go...oooh a sub 5 hour marathon. So kept pace going, no more walking...started to sweat again with the exertion. What would you do differently?: Not push 223 pounds around for 26 miles. Last long run was Jan 17 for a half marathon. Post race
Warm down: Hobbled back to wife and dogs, felt pretty happy but very sore. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training and weight...same old song and dance. Event comments: It's no frills, no mile markers and limited aid stations. But it's a decent race and course. Last updated: 2009-02-19 12:00 AM

Coffee and oatmeal.
Stretched some, lost the zipper to my jacket, thought about using safety pins. Decided against that.
