I bought a pair of Yanks laces there a year ago and saw the nice selection of bikes they have.  It is a tri specific store.  Seems like a good place.

 http://www.tritechmultisport.com/

Has anyone made a large purchase here?

If so, how was customer service, guarantees, return policy, etc?

Did you do a bike fitting?  How was it?

If you bought a bike - did they do a good job of helping choose the right bike for you in your budget?  Were prices same of better than competitors?

Would you buy there again (or at least consider them in your choices)?

PS if the owners or employees are members here please give me some self promotion

I have nothing but good things to say about Tri-tech. They are a great store. I got a bike fitting from them last season, then came back a few days later too look at bikes. When I got my fitting I mentioned that I was looking to buy a tri bike and they went to the schedule and asked me when I was coming in. They blocked out 2 hours so I could have a one on one look at the bikes. I probably rode close to 10. they took the time to set up each bike close to my spces from my fitting.

I've bought a wet suit from them as well as various pieces of tri equipment. Their return policy is a little harsh, for instance once I swam in the wetsuit I couldn't return it but they took the time with me to make sure I got the right one so I didn't have to return it.

The prices are on par with other bike stores in the area. Just remember, their bikes are generally higher end than the other shops in Cols. But the same bike at Tri-tech and Bike source for instance will cost the same.

You looking at a tri bike Brue?

I am proud of my el cheapo bike and the races I did on it but IF -IF- finances will allow it, I would like to get a tri bike.

I was fit there, bought their membership last year, and spent about $500 total there last year.  I was generally happy with everthing, though more than once a mechanical issue required a second look (but then I'm used to needing a second look taken just about everywhere I've ever gone).  I found it very difficult to get Christ, the owner, to be personal to me (first time I saw him I walked in the store to make my first mulihundred dollar purchase and had to pee, I ask if they had a restroom right upon entering the store and Christ looks at me with a blank stare and sarcastically says "are you going to buy something?), but the advice and products were well geared to triathlete.

I love the time trials the provide.  I have not taken advantage yet of the group rides and spinning sessions.  I very much appreciate their efforts to get people together and involved.  They are also the mechanics at many of my races (Ultra-Fits races I believe)

Bottom line is they care about the Central Ohio success of the sport of Triathlon.

I have noticed the same things, sometimes they are really friendly and nice and other times I feel like I am getting the cold shoulder.

I prefer to deal with Leanne and she is only there on Saturdays. She has always been very friendly and nice to us. We both bought our Felt road bikes there in 2006 and we always go back for anything we need. Since we live out of town they always fit us in on the weekends for a tune up so we dont have to drive back to pick our bikes up. I have been fitted by them twice. Once when I bought my road bike and then again when they added aerobars and change the bike geometry to fit more like a tri bike. We have no complaints about the place.

That's Christ. He's been very helpful to me but he never smiles. I've never seen him do it. Not once. Sometimes I can understand, I have kids who I take in there on occasion. And I'm sure he can just see them knock over a whole row of bikes. He's knowledgeable and helpful, but not really friendly.

I don't have a trainer or time to hit the indoor thing but it sounds like fun to get together with others to do.

Is he a bald white guy?  My kids were with me when I went in last year and other than being helpful with getting me my laces he told me in not the nicest manner not to let my kids touch anything.

You know they don't want kids in there, Just take a look at the sign on the door; "Pets welcome, Children must be leashed." I can't blame them, really.
