Pre-race routine:

Woke up, made coffee, went downstairs at hotel, ate yogurt and orange juice, waited for my brother
Event warmup:

rode from truck to registration and then to ferry

Comments:

This is a great ride, I've been doing it for the past 10 years only having skipped the last 2. Always a big crowd, always a few problems with so many bikes and not enough road but it's so early in the season, people are out of practice.
I rode this with my brother who only rides like once or twice a year. He was sick this year but ended up doing the entire ride and feeling pretty good. Its a great time to do a fun thing together.
What would you do differently?:

It's funny, I've been on the trainer more this year than ever but this was only my 2nd time out on the road and the real road is not like the trainer!
It's a fun ride, not a race although there are some who are way too serious about it. I wouldn't do anything different. Rode my old hybrid commuter, was glad for the fenders.

Event comments:

This is the opening of the official bike season I think in the Seattle area. Always a big crowd. Cascade does an awesome job. I'll plan to be back for this one for sure.

Nice job! We must have gotten on the same ferries out and back!    I remember seeing those people dressed up. LOL.  This is such a great ride! I'm planning to do it every year! And the rain held OFF which is a total bonus!
