Run
Comments: The run was 1.9 miles or so. It was definitely a little short. Not that I'm complaining. I need to really start running more. It'll get there, but overall I went too hard on this run, I think. Took me too long to get comfortable on the bike. . . Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Out and back. On the "out" section, the wind was killing me. So was the lactic acid built up from the run. After the burn stopped and I was able to get my breathing under control, I was able to hammer. Bike time includes T1 and T2. Not bad, I think I averaged 19.4 or so over the 10 miles. Considering I averaged maybe 17 on the way out, I think I picked it up pretty well on the way in. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I really should've pushed harder on the first mile of the 2nd run. I think I took it too easy thinking my HR was going to skyrocket. It never did during the first mile. I was really upset with myself, because I think I could've really made up some time on the second run. I really lost the race on the 2nd run, AG wise. I don't think I could've caught 2nd place, but I know I could've gone under 1:00:00 for my time. Oh well. Lesson learned. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Overall training volume. I am really trying to slowly ramp training up without going crazy early in the year. I want to take is slow and work it into my schedule with school and all. Racing will improve, hopefully. Last updated: 2009-02-22 12:00 AM
