Precipitation
Total Time = 43m 13s
Overall Rank = 98/1024
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 15/92
Pre-race routine:

Eat PB&J waffle. Drink coffee. Use restroom. Get race number. Walk to starting line.
Event warmup:

Walking to starting line. Too cold and rainy to go outside Kroger to warm up. I really don't do a good job of warming up for running only races.
Run
  • 43m 13s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 06m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

"Official" time from the "chip" says this was a 43:36, but I am taking my 43:13 from the Garmin since the actual race clock said 43:11 when I crossed. I think the race clock and my Garmin together make more sense than a disposable "chip" that seems to be showing everyone at about 20 seconds slower than what they saw on the clock or Garmin.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. I always think I could have pushed harder at the end when I have had time to think back on it, but I think the little up-chuck in my mouth as I was trying to catch back up to Kevin in the last mile says differently. Pleased with the pacing and overall race.
Post race
Warm down:

Rode back on the buses. I forgot that they make those for elementary and middle school kids, so they are a little tight. At chili from Ted's. Got cold. Went home and took a warm shower.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Early season and training right up to the race, but that is what a "C" race is...

Event comments:

Good as usual, just question the disposable chips since they seemed to be "off" for just about everyone who had seen their time on watches and the official clock at the finish line.

Nice race!

My time was off, too. I am going with the chip but the clock and watch said one thing, chip said another...Fast course, either way.
