Precipitation
Total Time = 34m
Overall Rank = 636/3813
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 70/402
Pre-race routine:

Got up at the crack of early and drove to Kirkland in the snow to meet my sister. Got an Americano at Starbucks, put on my Lucky Charms shorts and boarded the bus (overcrowded, but free) to the race.
Event warmup:

Shivered. Wandered around inside some stores to keep warm...huge snowflakes!
Run
  • 34m
  • 3.87 miles
  • 08m 47s  min/mile
Comments:

The overall rank is out of 3813 females. Overall I was 1948 out of 7233 timed runners. Very fun! I had to stop and tie my shoe about 1/4 mile from the finish, also took off my raincoat, so that added some time. I willed it to stay tied but it didn't obey...wah. I was too warm, but there was nowhere handy to leave my coat at the race start, and it was freezing...so I wore it.

The beer garden afterwards was nice. I wasn't going to partake, but ended up having one just for the heck of it. I prefer Guinness to Henrys any day. Not a fan of Henry's.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe wear an even more outrageous costume. Everyone had on green, it was really fun. They said there were 15,000 runners/walkers. Only two of the waves were timed.
Post race
Warm down:

Beer garden!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Snow, crowds, shoelace....

Event comments:

I wish they'd have given everyone a free beer....seems like a ripoff to pay $30 for a crappy white t-shirt and still have to buy a beer!

I didn't see green beer for sale, and only saw one dude drinking green beer.  It looked sort of like kool aid, and I am very glad I didn't seek it out!  I'm going to smuggle Guinness in next year!

Great run Great warm down.

You should know by now that rain jackets never stay tied!

That guy with the funny name, he was just normal sized agains all you leprechauns!

I should have written a better sentence above...my SHOE didn't stay tied.

And yes, Detlef probably feels like the world is full of leprechauns!
