Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

This was a Jekyll and Hyde race, the first half was awesome, the 2nd half a monster. I ran the first half in 1:56...I got eaten by the monster downhill at mile 17. After that my quads locked and I ran-walked the rest of it. What kept me going? The biggest freaking finisher medal I've ever seen!!!! :)

Ok my initial race report didn't include MAJOR kudo's to the organizers of this event. This was a great race, with very good course control, provided by Little Rock's finest and a ton of volunteers.

The course is very scenic, and you pass several interesting landmarks. You run by Central High School, for those of you history buffs, this high school is the site of the "Arkansas 9" and the early civil rights attempts to desegregate public high schools. You pass the home used for the set of "Designing Women" The governor's mansion, the State Capitol...it goes on and on.

Oh yeah, and Joe Biden was also a guest at our hotel the night before the race....security was crazy.

Event comments:

Only complaint about this race is the resturants in the area of the hotel...not kid friendly...otherwise a good race.

Bumping this thread because I feel the race organizers deserve better props than I gave them.

Way to come through with a great time even with a bad second half of the race. AND that is by far the coolest finisher's medal I have ever seen. Congratualtions!

Nice work Brad!  Hmmm, the monster downhill is supposed to be a good thing!  Bummer, but yeah after running that far and then the quads taking a pounding, it hurts!

That downhill to mile 17 was a killer.  I think the next 1 1/2 after that was the toughest for me.  Good Run!
