Today was my second day out on a real bike. It was such a gorgeous morning, I was SO happy, even though it was a lot harder than I thought it would be (those hills look a lot smaller from my car) I was really feelin' fine. I thought, "Wow, so this is what it feels like to be able to just go do something fun without getting too worried about my fitness...." Then I crashed. For no reason that I could see. It was like I was really tired and wasn't paying attention and suddenly I was on the road with my bike on top of me. My knee is torn up pretty badly, and my bicep took a real hard poke from the handlebar, but I got up pretty quick and came home. (not that I am tough, bc I am the biggest wuss ever when it comes to pain tolerance, but I was pretty close to home...)

I am glad I got this inevitable first digger out of the way, and I am glad no cars were around and I am glad I wasn't going very fast, and I am glad I was wearing long sleeves and my helmet.

And the sun is still out, and I hope this burn heals up quickly because I need to go get revenge on that road!

Good list! Crashes suck, but if you can still write about it, your right, it coulda been worse!
Now, go get that revenge!

no, unfortunately. the piece of crap MTB is just fine. If it had exploded, I'd have better luck convincing my partner I NEED a new road bike... and now that I crashed, she is sure to say, "See? you don't need a road bike, they are too fragile for the way you ride, and you will go too fast, and you will really get hurt when you crash..." She loves me, really she does, she just DOESN'T GET IT!
