Subject: Ideas on resuming training close to race time?
OK - I posted that I had a bad case of poison ivy last week - 2 weeks to my first sprint tri this season. Otherwise my training was going pretty well. Now that I have laid around for a week under doctor's orders, I am ready to go again! I swam tonight 2500 yds. No problem - that's my strength anyway.

I now need to do a little more on Tues, Wed and Thurs. Any suggestions on how to resume training, when I should be nearly to the point of tapering?

My thoughts are:
Tuesday LSD run (long slow distance)
Tues - PM swim again
Wed 1.5 x race distance ride
Thurs minibrick (1/2 race distance on bike and run)
Thurs PM possible swim
Friday travel to the race, carb load all day
Saturday dive into the Gulf of Mexico!

No speed work at all, no grinders, just light stuff -

Does anyone have a better plan?

looks a little heavy for race week unless you are training through. if you are not, do some light, quick workouts to stay loose and show up well rested and fast! have a great race!
