So now that ING is behind us, it's time to start thinking about those upcoming triathlons.  I know I have one in 3 weeks and will be swimming in the ocean (eeeppp!).  So any interest in an OWS this weekend or next?  I'm totally flexible on time and place (well - would prefer Dallas Landing or Red Top Mtn over Lake Lanier).  Any other crazies out there that want to swim in super cold water?

I just called the Lake Allatoona report line and the lake temperature is 58 degrees. Not tooooo bad. I'm always up for an OWS in Allatoona. Holler at me if you need some company. I'm thinking the longer we wait the better :-)

I am in, I am in!!!  I have my first ocean OWS in three weeks.  It will also be my first with the wetsuit so I would like a chance to practice.  Let me know where and when...

That is fine with me! I'll be there. I don't want to confuse things for everybody, but might I suggest Acworth Beach instead of Dallas Landing? The parking there is free, and who doesn't want to save five bucks!! LOL....

Plus, I think its a safer place to swim, but this time of year, there won't be a lot of boats out anyways....

btw: It's the same distance from Hwy 92 as Dallas Landing, just towards Acworth rather than away from it.

Acworth Beach "technically" doesn't open until Memorial Day and they have signs saying you can get  $100 fine if you swim before that. I don't know how strict that is though. Dallas Landing IMO would be a better option.

I seem to remember that we ran into this problem a couple years back.  Maybe it's best to do Dallas Landing???

Ok who is still in for this?  I need Heather to come get this group organized!!  I can do 9am - just thought noon would be better because it is warmer then, but if 9 is more convenient for people that is fine with me.  I think we should do Dallas Landing, too, in light of the fact that Acworth Beach is technically closed.  I generally try not to break the law if I can help it

So 9am - Dallas Landing.  Who's in?

1. Meredith

2. Jeff

Can't do Friday or Saturday.  I'm looking at hitting Mary Alice to try out a wetsuit on Sunday.  Most of y'all will be doing the holiday thang, but if anyone else wants to join me my time can be flexible.  Just going to run trails for 3hrs after.

If the group doesn't mind a newcomer, I'd love to join and try out my wetsuit and open water swim before The John Tanner race.  That will be my first open water race and this would be my first OWS practice. This would also let my wife not have to paddle the kayak next to me.  If it's cool with the group, look for the guy that looks intimidated, that would be me.

Dallas Landing is fine for me. Last year, about this time, Acworth would have made ALOT of money if they had showed up and fined all 25 Team in Training members... Just sayin ;-)

See ya at 9 AM...

The sun should start peeking out of the clouds at 9 AM tomorrow morning. I will be there at 8 AM to get in my easy easy 50 minute run before the swim, if anybody wants to join me. Water temps are still 58 degrees, should be refreshing.

Check back here before you leave in the morning to make sure it is still on. I vote LawyerChick has the call...
