My wife is looking for a good quality wetsuit for the one or two tris a year that require them in our neck of the woods. Probably a short sleeve. She just bought one at for $450 at our local running store, but my suit was far less.

What have you used, how much should she pay?

Well, mine's long sleeve but I'd say you invested a bit more than I....I just love my Quintana Roo Ultrafull, for about $220.  Great entry level suit and fit me wonderfully and no feel like I'm suffocating effects of which I was wary.  I'm 5'4 but very short legged and a bit wider on top than bottom (i.e., size 10 suit jacket 8 pant).  This wetsuit is perfect for the limited use I'm going to use it.

I paid less for mine. I checked the reviews on this site, and we will be returning the new purchase! I'm not a total jerk by the way (well at least not for this), I dropped some serious coin on V-day for her personal tri-trainer...but I think she got ripped off.
