Overall Rank = 151/246
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 7/21
Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4 AM ate a banana, drank some oj and coffee. Got all my gear together and waited for Lisa to pick me up.
Event warmup:

Stretch and ran for about 10 mins.
Swim
  • 11m 26s
  • 580 yards
  • 01m 58s / 100 yards
Comments:

I think I did very well in this swim. I felt pretty good from the start. It was my first running start and it didn't freak me out as much as I thought it would. I only got kicked a couple of times and only had a few issues with people running into me.
Transition 1
  • 02m 29s
Comments:

An okay transition for my first Tri I think. I didn't have much trouble getting out of my wetsuit. Had a little trouble getting on my gloves because my hands were wet.
What would you do differently?:

Forget the gloves next time.
Bike
  • 55m 28s
  • 16 miles
  • 17.31 mile/hr
Comments:

I did pretty well on the bike. Although I dropped my water bottle on Meridian and had to stop and pick it up. I was so mad...I guess its a beginners mistake. My bike time probably would have been a couple minutes better if I hadn't dropped it.
What would you do differently?:

Not drop my water bottle.
Transition 2
  • 01m 31s
Comments:

This transition went okay.
What would you do differently?:

Next time I think I'll try and run without the socks. It takes too long to put them on.
Run
  • 32m 59s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

The first mile of the run was really hard for me. I felt like I couldn't catch my breath. The last two miles I felt fine and I had a strong finish.
What would you do differently?:

I need to run more to try and get my time down.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough practice running.

Event comments:

This was a great race. The hills are challenging but fun. I will definitely do this race again next year. This was a great first triathlon experience and I can't wait to do another one!
