I had so much fun doing 100k last year (so much fun I cried a couple times) that I feared I couldn't handle all the fun of 200k and stuck with the shorter distance again this year.

100K? What's the point?  200K for me baby!  I did the 200K last year.  That climb at the end is a ball buster.  I think it was the hardest physical thing I have ever done, besides giving birth.

Zilla - 2009-04-06 11:25 PM It's not the hills I'm worried about it's the HUMIDITY!!!  I am used to DRY heat!!

No kidding...it does nothing for my hair!

I'm in for the 200 but I now that I have seen that graph......I'm sure I will be switching to the 100!

Honestly, 100 is more than enough to challenge yourself.

200 is just un-necessary. (!!!)

HHH remains the hardest thing I've physically done. And I only did the 100K.

I've got IMWI coming up, so we'll see how that changes. Surprised

My hair was out of hand after the ride last year.  Nothing like Whizzzzz's though.

Zilla - That looks pretty accurate.  They ease you in at the begining and then a huge climb about 7-8 miles in.  The trick is to save some energy for that last hill...which never ends.  Easier said than done.

After getting my @ss handed to me on the 100K last year, I did what any reasonable person would do.  I signed up for the 200K.  The nice thing about this course is it makes the hills of IMWI not seem as large.

Great after party, too.

The 200K just looks ... scary!!

Tell me of this never ending hill at the end.  I don't live in your "neck o' the woods" and your hills are different than my hills.  I have mountainous terrain and a whole lot of long grinding climbs. Share with me this course's worst parts.

That's HOT!

That last hill is the road to the top of Blue Mounds State Park:

http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/parks/specific/bluemound/

It's not a mountain, but it IS Wisconsin's 7th highest spot.

I'm not sure which road you come in on, but there's street view for all of them. Do a little virtual bike action .

Zilla - aren't you the one that was riding 1000's of feet up a mountainside last summer? I think you'll be fine. That last climb is (according to the website) 3.5 miles and 900 feet up tortuous Mounds Park Road. Of course, that is at the end of 40 other climbs...

I cried last year at the finish. And I had to walk a little bit on the evil last low grade climb coming into the park at the end. My goal is not to do either of those things this year. I will not however give up the cursing. A girl's gotta have something.

I think one of my favorite memories from last year is when Whizzzzz's Garmin went into auto-pause because we were climbing so slowly.

Since our dear Zilla won't be able to make it, she sweet-talked me into taking her transfer (okay, she offered it out there and I bit).

I'm in for the ride!  Now, WTH did I get myself into?
